What is Hearth?

Overview

Hearth is Blumira's AI-native security product. It is an AI security analyst that you work with in a chat window. Use Hearth to investigate your environment, understand your security posture, find gaps in your coverage, and act on what you find. Hearth produces clear, evidence-backed security work that you can review, share, and export.

Hearth works across the tools that you already use. It starts giving you value as soon as you add your domain, before you connect anything else. If you are a Blumira customer, your Blumira data connects to Hearth automatically. Hearth draws on what Blumira already sees in your environment.

Note: Hearth launches first as an invitation-only private beta, and its features and availability expand over time. Some capabilities are still in progress and might not be available at launch.

What Hearth does

You ask Hearth a question in plain language, or you select a ready-made template. Hearth then produces a security artifact: a structured, cited piece of work that you can read, verify, and keep. Hearth grounds every artifact in real evidence and validates it before you see it. You can trust what it tells you and trace where each conclusion comes from.

Hearth can help you with the following:

Capability What it does
Integrations

Connect Hearth to your environment, with over 50 integration options available to provide real-time data to your investigation and analysis capabilities. Blumira automatically connects its data sources to Hearth.

Setup instructions appear directly in the Integrations windows for in-app guidance.

Investigation

Ask questions about activity in your environment. Hearth returns cited, evidence-backed answers, timelines, and findings, and it can investigate any user, host, or IP that you select.

Prompt templates are available to get you started.

Actions  Turn a response into an action plan, and take response actions in your connected tools. Hearth always asks for your confirmation first.
Exposure

See your risk from the outside in. Hearth uses open-source intelligence on your domain to surface breach data, exposed services or credentials, and risky accounts.

Review and manage exposed elements in the OAuth, Cloud, Identity, Hosts, and Attack Surface tabs. Create action plans from issues within the Overview tab. Hearth creates the remediation plan and opens it in Actions.

Dashboards  Get a recommended dashboard automatically when you add an integration, or ask Hearth to build and tune a dashboard on demand.
Briefings  Run a template on demand, or schedule it to run on its own and update each time (for example, a daily or weekly summary).
Compliance  Using pre-built prompt templates, generate compliance reports with the status of each control and supporting evidence.
Remember Hearth can save a useful fact from an artifact into your organization, so you do not have to look it up again.
My Queue Manage your investigations in one place. You can assign an investigation to a person, add a note, and track its status.

The basics of using Hearth

To begin using Hearth’s core features, do the following:

  1. Log in to Hearth, authenticating with the Blumira credentials that you already use.

Note: You use one identity for both Hearth and Blumira, linked by your verified email address. Any Blumira user can log in to Hearth. What you can see inside Hearth, such as which organizations and data, depends on your role and access.
  2. (Optional) Navigate to Integrations to review the available options and add new data sources. To learn how to configure a new integration, click Setup guide or Pop out.
  3. On the Home page, in the chat box, ask Hestia a question or click Templates then select a guided prompt.

  4. Click Send.
  5. Review the artifact that Hearth produces.
  6. Re-run, share, or export the artifact from either the Conversations or Artifacts page.
Note: Hearth does real work for each question, so a response can take a little time. If your question is broad, Hearth might ask you to narrow it, such as by choosing a shorter time window. Hearth searches both your data and your past artifacts to build its answer.
